This community project features a collaboration between Zoc’s Gourmet restaurant and the Southwest YMCA branch in Rochester. Given the everchanging challenges and health guidelines following the surge in the COVID-19 pandemic in spring 2020, the community presentation transitioned to an online format. The virtual event, followed by an engaging Q&A, was attended by residents and community leaders including Zola Brown, President of the 19th Ward Community Association, John DeMott, Southwest Rochester Street Liaison, Bruce Tehan, Children’s Librarian & Site Supervisor at the Arnett Branch of the Monroe County Public Libraries, as well as Zaaqi Johnson, owner and chef of Zoc’s Gourmet and Director Doreen Scanlan and youth representatives from Southwest YMCA Teen Center.
